Born in 1976, in Havana, Cuba. Mayte Almeida immigrated to the United States where she started a career as an airplane mechanic. She began a serious art career in 1995 at the National Art School of San Alejandro in Havana, Cuba. She there learned to perfect her natural talent for painting and photography.
